The Communications and Marketing Coordinator is responsible for developing and producing marketing and communication materials that elevate the organization's reputation and enhance its brand, particularly focusing on attracting and retaining talent.
This is a full-time, non-exempt role that operates under both direct and indirect supervision.Key Responsibilities:
*Implement and manage the corporate social media strategy to strengthen the company’s image and brand across various communities, emphasizing talent acquisition and retention. *Conduct site visits to gather marketing resources, including photos, videos, and insights for retention and other initiatives. *Create, prepare, and disseminate communications through multiple channels, such as print, electronic, digital, social media, and video formats. *Collaborate with various internal departments, including HR, sales, and safety, to produce diverse materials such as brochures, booklets, postcards, mailers, billboards, banners, and presentations. *Contribute to the planning and execution of company events, providing materials and attending as necessary. *Offer input on the content and materials for the company’s website. *Communicate in a professional yet distinctive voice that aligns with the organization’s culture and objectives. *Ensure that the content and design of the company’s websites are current, effective, and engaging, monitoring for feedback and making adjustments as needed. *Participate in the development and distribution of the quarterly newsletter. *Report social media metrics (e.g., followers, shares, likes, impressions, feedback) to company leadership as appropriate. Promote social media initiatives internally by educating staff on relevant technologies and campaigns.
- Ensure compliance with company brand standards and industry editorial guidelines. Travel may be required.
- Maintain and care for company equipment.
- Complete additional tasks as directed by supervisors.
- Occasionally work beyond standard hours, including evenings and weekends.
Knowledge Requirements:
*Familiarity with AP style and SEO best practices is preferred. *Advanced knowledge of social media platforms, marketing strategies, and activities. *Strong understanding of web technologies and their role in marketing. *Solid foundational knowledge in marketing principles.
Skills and Abilities:
*Ability to establish a compelling social media presence. *Capable of working independently and maintaining organization. *Produce high-quality work that requires minimal revisions. *Quickly interpret numerical data and formulas when necessary.
- Recognize confidential information and prevent unauthorized disclosures. Qualifications include exceptional attention to detail, strong business writing skills, and the ability to visualize and convey messages in engaging content. Proficient in using social media tools and willing to expand skill sets. Demonstrated experience with desktop publishing, including editing digital images and designing layouts using electronic publishing software.
Educational Background:
*Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
Experience:
*Minimum of two years of experience in social media and/or marketing. *Portfolio showcasing previous work is required. *Experience in the construction industry is preferred. Required training includes Cyber Training.
Physical Demands:
- Constantly communicate verbally and audibly with clients.
- Regularly engage in telephone conversations.
- Continuously view and read computer screens and standard print. Normal vision and hearing range are essential.
- Regularly use hands for typing and filing.
- Frequently sit for extended periods.
- Operate basic office equipment such as phones, computers, and copiers. Frequent bending, stooping, stretching, and prolonged standing may be required.
- Occasionally lift and transport items weighing less than 25 pounds.
- May require personal protective equipment in certain environments.
- Occasionally work in outdoor settings with exposure to varying weather conditions.
- May involve travel for meetings and events.
