The Market Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing and directing the branch office, ensuring World Class Service is delivered to our members and the community. This position involves managing all operations of a remote Credit Union branch, including direct supervision of staff, guaranteeing that the team consistently provides exceptional member experiences while maintaining branch safety and security. The Market Manager will lead the team in advising members on suitable products and services that meet their financial needs, while also fostering growth and profitability through the development and enhancement of member relationships and retention.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act as a Sales Leader, ensuring the branch meets and surpasses sales and member service objectives. Monitor and support marketing initiatives, sales activities, and quality service efforts, including transaction volumes and new account openings, to achieve branch goals.
- Ensure all members and visitors receive a warm and professional welcome to the credit union.
- Guarantee that branch operations are conducted in compliance with established Credit Union policies and all relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
- Responsible for the recruitment, mentoring, coaching, and evaluation of all staff members.
- Guide and train employees on professional interactions with members, Shared Members, Segregated Employee Groups (SEG), Partner Companies (PC), and other Credit Union vendors.
- Ensure staff are well-trained and knowledgeable about all Credit Union products and services.
- Continuously assess staffing needs to maintain optimal workflow.
- Manage employee schedules to ensure adequate coverage for a positive member experience.
- Conduct regular staff meetings to gather input on operations, sales, and staff development.
- Promote Credit Union programs and encourage new memberships through active participation in business development activities.
- Identify member needs and effectively present the Credit Union's services and products to build and maintain relationships.
- Represent the Credit Union in key community activities, including business, charitable, civic, and social organizations.
- Develop and sustain relationships with current SEG's and PC's.
- Seek opportunities for continuous improvement in sales and operational processes, including cash management and transaction balancing.
- Prepare necessary reports and maintain accurate documentation of branch operations.
- Maintain communication with the main office, prepare standard reports, and attend management meetings.
- Address escalated member requests and complex issues, ensuring timely resolutions.
- Conduct audits to ensure compliance with Credit Union policies and procedures.
- Oversee daily transaction balancing and loan application processing.
- Assist members with account management and product inquiries, escalating issues as needed.
- May perform teller duties as required during peak times or staff shortages.
- Ensure the branch's general maintenance and the safety of employees and members.
- Enforce safety and security protocols, maintaining a professional work environment.
- Respond to after-hours alarms or service requests as necessary.
- Manage the branch budget in alignment with the overall Credit Union strategy.

- Critical thinking skills are essential.
- A four-year degree in a business or finance-related field is preferred; a High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- A minimum of 8 years of relevant branch management and member service experience is required, with 5 years in customer service preferred.
- Experience managing a financial institution branch is essential.
- Strong knowledge of Credit Union products and services is preferred.
- Intermediate computer skills, including MS Office applications.
