About Our Program

Mercy Centre is a leading provider of adult services, serving over one hundred adults with developmental disabilities in four programs across Worcester County. Established by the Sisters of Mercy and Catholic Charities in the 1960s, our organization has been fostering growth and independence for fifty years.

We tailor our programmatic services to meet the unique needs and preferences of each individual, emphasizing skill building, employment training, and community engagement. Our approach encourages self-esteem, independence, communication skills, and social interactions.

Job Responsibilities

As a Direct Care Worker, your primary duties will include:

  • Providing direct care services and support to individuals with intellectual disabilities
  • Leading groups and trainings to aid in skill acquisition and maintenance
  • Assisting with daily tasks, such as Activities of Daily Living, Social Skills, Sensory Motor Skills, and Communication Skills
  • Filling out relevant paperwork, including daily tracking sheets, objective tracking sheets, incident reports, and seizure reports

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary, estimated at $45,000 per year, based on industry standards and Massachusetts living costs. Additionally, we provide a comprehensive benefits package, including:

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Bilingual or Spanish speaking ability is preferred
  • Strong administrative, organizational, and writing skills
