Bilingual Field Interviewer

RTI International is seeking a part-time Field Interviewer to work on the National Household Enumeration Study (NHES).
The Field Interviewer will be responsible for traveling to respondents' homes to conduct in-person screenings and interviews. The study involves collecting data about television viewing and household composition.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct in-person screenings and interviews with respondents
Travel to selected locations to recruit study participants
Collect confidential information and administer standardized questionnaires
Independently manage administrative duties, including participating in conference calls and completing online trainings
Transmit data as scheduled
Requirements
Must be at least 21 years old at the time of employment
Must possess High School Diploma or GED
Possess effective communication skills through speech and listening
Fluency in both English and Spanish through reading, writing, and speaking
Available for entire training and data collection period
Able to successfully complete training
Must have a valid driver's license and reliable personal automobile available for business use
Comfortable using RTI issued tablet, laptop and other associated equipment
Access to password-protected Wi-Fi connection for data transmissions and administrative responsibilities
Able to keep project information confidential
Preferred Qualifications
Positive, self-motivated, curious, and enjoy interacting with people from culturally-diverse backgrounds
Effective time, schedule, and workload management skills to meet set deadlines
Computer skills, namely email and internet proficiency
Be comfortable working in unfamiliar areas
Work Schedule
The data collection period is expected to be December 2024 through July 2025. On average, you will be needed approximately 25 hours per week when work is available. On average, you should be available to work in the field 4 days each week. The majority of this work is anticipated to be during evenings and weekends. Each of your trips to the field are expected to be at least 4 hours long.
Training
Field Interviewers are required to complete trainings which include: successfully pass project required trainings, attendance at all trainings is mandatory, attend a 2-day virtual screening training, attend an in-person training, and pass certification mocks twice in data collection period. Travel distances can average 50 to 75 miles from residence.
