About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Analyst to join our team at UNC Health Care. As a Business Analyst, you will play a critical role in the planning and establishment of budgets and goals, as well as the development and implementation of fiscal strategies to achieve these objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and implement accounting and business systems to support financial planning and analysis.
  • Perform unit, systems, and parallel tests of new or redesigned systems and processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Supervise a team of subordinate employees, including selection, training, appraisal, coaching, and disciplining in accordance with UNC Health Care policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and analyze revenues and actual expenditures in relation to budget, making changes to plans as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with policies and procedures, making recommendations for changes as needed.
  • Develop and document procedures to support financial planning and analysis.
  • Participate in system-wide initiatives to improve operational efficiencies and lead Continuous Quality Improvement teams.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate accounting records to ensure compliance with state and federal regulatory agencies, as well as GAAP, GASB, and FASB.
  • Prepare financial analyses for departmental and institutional planning.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Public Administration, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience).
  • Two years of experience in professional accounting, management of an operational unit, business analysis, or financial analysis (or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience).
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis, and budgeting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
