About the Role

The Community Health Centers of the Rutland Region is seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Mental Health Clinician to provide mental health treatment to children in the Southern-Central Vermont area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Emotional Support: Offer emotional support and counseling to pediatric patients and their families, helping them navigate the challenges associated with illness, hospitalization, and social needs.
  • Assess Social Needs: Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine the social, environmental, and psychosocial needs of pediatric patients and their families.
  • Develop Care Plans: Collaborate with medical professionals to develop individualized care plans that address the specific needs of each pediatric patient and their family.
  • Conduct Therapy Sessions: Provide individual, family, and group therapy sessions using evidence-based therapeutic techniques.
  • Provide Education: Deliver education and support to pediatric patients and their families about coping strategies, disease management, and community resources available to them.
  • Collaborate with Multidisciplinary Team: Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans that address the holistic needs of pediatric patients.
  • Maintain Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and progress.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree: Master's degree in social work (MSW), marriage and family therapy (MFT), clinical mental health counseling (CMHC) or similar from an accredited institution.
  • Licensed Clinician: Licensed clinician required (LMHC, LADC, LICSW, LMFT).
  • Experience: Prior experience in pediatric social work or a related field is highly desirable.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of child development, family systems, and social work theories and interventions related to pediatrics.
