Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Nurse Specialist to join our team at UCSF Health Medical Center at Mission Bay. As a Pediatric Nurse Specialist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to children and adolescents in our pediatric intensive care unit.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care to pediatric patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  • Monitor patients' vital signs and report any changes or concerns to the physician.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of pediatric nursing practices, including advanced life support and critical care.
Requirements
  • Current California RN license.
  • AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
  • Pediatric cath/EP lab experience.
  • Pediatric pre-op and recovery experience.
  • Moderate sedation experience.
  • POCT (point of care testing) experience.
  • 5 years pediatric in/out patient experience preferred.
Work Environment

This is a 12-hour day shift position with variable starts, Monday through Friday. You may be required to float to other UCSF facilities.
