Job Title: Paralegal Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Paralegal Specialist to join our team at the State of Colorado. As a Paralegal Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting our defense team by managing and organizing discovery, reviewing and summarizing case files, and assisting attorneys with research and document preparation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and organize discovery, including converting electronic files to PDF and creating digital bookmarks and indexes.
  • Review and summarize case files, identifying matters of significance and bringing them to the attention of the defense team.
  • Assist attorneys with research and document preparation, including drafting routine and standard motions, briefs, and legal memoranda.
  • Provide support for hearings and trials, including tracking witnesses, exhibits, and client communication.

Requirements:

  • Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program or accredited institution.
  • One year of a combination of education, training, or experience performing legal support functions.
  • Strong client service focus, high degree of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.
  • Strong attention to detail, research skills, and organizational and time management skills.
