Join our esteemed team at a premier convention center hotel located in a vibrant urban setting. This luxurious establishment features a variety of dining options, including an all-day dining venue, a lively sports bar, a specialty steakhouse, a coffee shop, and a unique retail outlet. Guests can also indulge in a full-service spa, fitness center, and a rooftop pool and bar, complete with outdoor amenities.

Job Overview:
The Culinary Operations Leader will play a pivotal role in overseeing the culinary team within the designated outlet. Collaborating closely with the Chef de Cuisine and other culinary and front-of-house leaders, this individual will be responsible for scheduling, order execution, and ensuring an exceptional dining experience for both guests and team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Actively participate in cooking and food preparation.
  • Prepare and execute menu items for restaurant services or in-room dining.
  • Ensure daily mise en place and set up workstations for service.
  • Follow recipes and production schedules accurately.
  • Monitor portion control and quality of food prior to service.
  • Inspect food products for quality and presentation.
  • Communicate inventory needs and any shortages to the Chef.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of food prep areas.
  • Assist in planning and executing special events and dietary requirements.
  • Control food costs and manage inventory effectively.
  • Conduct monthly inventory checks.
  • Ensure all food supplies are prepared and available for service.
  • Report maintenance or safety issues promptly.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in line work, particularly in a la carte or short order stations.
  • Understanding of cooking techniques such as sautéing, roasting, and baking.
  • Culinary education or relevant certification is advantageous.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in a high-volume restaurant or hotel setting preferred.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Must reside within a reasonable distance from the hotel.
