Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Wireless Network Engineer to join our team at UC San Diego Health. As a key member of our network infrastructure team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our wireless network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement wireless network solutions to meet the needs of our healthcare organization
  • Manage and maintain our wireless network infrastructure, including Cisco wireless controllers, access points, and switches
  • Provide 24/7 problem management support for wireless networking, security, and related software applications
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of wireless network solutions with other IT systems
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of network topologies and configurations
Requirements
  • 9 years of related experience, education/training, or a Bachelor's degree in a related field plus 5 years of related experience/training
  • Expert knowledge of wireless networking technologies, including 802.11ac, 802.11ax, and 802.1x
  • Experience with Cisco wireless solutions, including Catalyst 9800 IOS-XE and Cisco 98XX series APs
  • Strong understanding of network security principles and practices
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Expert knowledge of Site Survey tools and experience working with Cisco wireless solutions
  • Experience with Cisco ISE for authentication and Guest Access of a Cisco Wireless Network
  • Experience working with Cisco Wireless management solutions, such as DNA Center and Prime Infrastructure
Working Conditions

This is a hybrid position, requiring both on-site and remote work. The selected candidate must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
