About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Career Development Specialist to join our team at New Haven Job Corps. As a Career Development Specialist, you will be responsible for conducting direct recruitment activities and interfacing with other outreach contractors for student enrollment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct direct recruitment activities, including public speaking, and develop linkage with referral resources such as human services agencies, recreation centers, youth organizations, and churches.
  • Interview interested candidates and obtain required information on each one, ensuring all documents required to support eligibility are obtained, properly completed, and included in the applicant's folder.
  • Arrange for reception of candidates upon acceptance into the program.
  • Follow up on student progress, e.g., length of stay and separation.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, business communications, or a closely related field.
  • Associate degree and 2 years of related experience or successful outreach and admissions experience with other youth programs.
  • A valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
