Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Residential Aide to join our team at Transformation Healthcare. As a Residential Aide, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with substance use disorders and mental illness in a peer-run supportive living home.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a sober living environment and promote recovery skills while demonstrating a caring and compassionate attitude.
  • Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation services as needed, consulting with supervisors and house managers.
  • Establish trusting relationships with clients, modeling awareness and behavior necessary for growth and development.
  • Report to work on time and maintain regular attendance.
  • Train and monitor residents in independent skills such as bed making, laundry, and daily self-care practices.
  • Supervise and assist residents in attending scheduled daily programs, including school, work, medical appointments, and therapy sessions.
  • Accompany residents on shopping trips and counsel them on purchasing items.
  • Work with residents to achieve formal and informal goals, such as using public transportation, communication, and money management.
  • Observe, document, and review residents' daily progress, needs, medical issues, and behaviors.
  • Report any immediate safety hazards to supervisory personnel or maintenance staff.
Requirements
  • 21 years or older.
  • Good communication skills and de-escalation skills.
  • 1-year experience working with SUD/MH clients (preferred).
  • Valid Maryland Driver's License with two points or less on driving record.
  • Knowledge of sober living and recovery skills, empowerment of clients, and presenting a caring and compassionate attitude.
  • One year of sobriety.
Working Conditions

Work is typically performed in an office environment with continuous contact with staff and the public. May expose incumbent to contagious or infectious diseases and dangerous situations.
