Job Overview

TCS Care For All is seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to provide a nurturing environment for foster children in our community.

As a Residential Caregiver, you will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being and safety of the youth in your care. Your primary responsibility will be to create a warm and welcoming home-like atmosphere, providing a positive experience for the children during a challenging time.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills, a patient and empathetic mindset, and the ability to engage with the youth on a daily basis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a safe and caring community within the residential setting.
  • Assist residents with personal care, including hygiene, grooming, and dressing.
  • Ensure residents meet physical and academic standards, focusing on their overall health and well-being.
  • Responsible for grocery shopping and preparing nutritious meals for residents.
  • Perform basic housekeeping tasks, such as laundry and maintaining a clean and tidy home.
  • Provide transportation for residents to and from activities and appointments.
  • Support residents in building healthy relationships.
  • Follow care plans for each resident and report any changes in their health or habits.
  • Serve as a legally mandated reporter.
Requirements
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and home management skills.
  • Ability to develop strong relationships with youth.
  • Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
  • Good problem-solving skills and perseverance to advocate for the best care for youth.
  • Ability to use sound discretion and good judgment in decision-making.
Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED required. Additional certifications or education in human services or education/childcare preferred.
  • Prior experience in a residential facility preferred.
  • At least one year of experience working with youth.
  • South Carolina Driver's License with a clean background check required.
Working Conditions
  • Flexible schedule to provide around-the-clock care and supervision.
  • Ability to sit, stand, stoop, and bend to complete household tasks.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds at a time.
