Job Title: Environmental Planner

Rincon Consultants is seeking a highly skilled Environmental Planner to join our team. As a key member of our environmental team, you will be responsible for conducting research, field work, impact analysis, and report preparation for CEQA/NEPA and related technical studies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage complex CEQA/NEPA documents for transportation projects
  • Interface with clients and make public presentations to agency decision-making bodies
  • Perform agency consultation and ensure environmental regulatory compliance
  • Contribute to business development functions, including proposal preparation and involvement in transportation-related planning/environmental organizations
  • Demonstrate expertise in CEQA/NEPA and related technical areas
  • Understand the environmental scope of projects and their impacts on various groups and agencies
Requirements:
  • BS/BA degree in a relevant field and 8+ years of experience required
  • Advanced degree preferred
  • Experience in a private environmental consulting firm preferred
  • Experience working with Metro, Caltrans, FTA, FHWA, and/or local transportation agencies preferred
  • Demonstrated familiarity with NEPA, CEQA, and related federal and California environmental processes
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to lead a team
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Applications
  • Willingness to travel as projects require
