JOB DESCRIPTION

DEPARTMENT:

GENERAL PURPOSE

Oversee the daily functions of the housekeeping team, ensuring a secure environment and high-quality service to maximize guest satisfaction, safeguard assets, and minimize costs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead the housekeeping personnel by fostering open communication, providing training, coaching, and constructive feedback to promote optimal performance.

Conduct inspections of guest accommodations, turndown services, public spaces, and service areas; ensure adherence to safety protocols, standard operating procedures, and health regulations to maintain exceptional cleanliness and guest contentment.

Delegate tasks to staff, considering special requests and priority areas to facilitate seamless housekeeping operations.

Distribute supplies to staff at the start of shifts to manage inventory effectively and ensure availability while controlling costs.

Address guest inquiries, concerns, and issues to guarantee satisfaction.

Document items in the Lost and Found and respond to inquiries to maintain accountability and enhance guest experience.

Implement emergency protocols and training to ensure the safety of the hotel, guests, staff, and company resources.


WORKING HOURS:
Eight-hour shifts; scheduled days and times may vary based on operational needs.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

May assist evening staff with duties including lobby cleaning, turndown service, and waste disposal.

Engage in special projects and other responsibilities as assigned. Participate in hotel committees and task force initiatives.


WORKING HOURS:
Eight-hour shifts; scheduled days and times may vary based on operational needs.
SUPERVISORY DUTIES - JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge
Requires a solid understanding of housekeeping operations and hotel services, policies, and procedures, typically acquired through on-the-job experience.
Requires supervisory capabilities.
Ability to effectively communicate information and hotel services to management and guests.
Skills
Moderate hearing ability for effective communication with guests and staff, as well as telephone use.
Excellent vision for quality inspections and report evaluations.
Strong verbal communication skills for interactions with guests, telephone conversations, and two-way radio communications.
Proficient literacy for interpreting reports.
Abilities
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. of linens, supplies, and furniture.
Ability to push up to 35 lbs., including housekeeping carts and vacuum cleaners.
Ability to pull up to 35 lbs., including housekeeping carts and vacuum cleaners.
Ability to carry up to 15 lbs. of supplies.
Capable of bending for tasks such as picking up supplies, cleaning guest rooms, turndown service, and waste removal. No kneeling required.
Mobility for continuous movement throughout the hotel.
Continuous standing for 90% of the shift.
Climbing stairs, approximately 100 steps, 3% of an 8-hour shift.
Use of ladders, approximately 3 feet, 2% of an 8-hour shift.
No driving required.
Education/Formal Training
High school diploma or equivalent experience.
Experience
Position requires one to two years of experience in a related role within this company or other organizations.
