Job Title: Licensed Psychologist Manager, Corrections

We are seeking a highly motivated Licensed Psychologist Manager to join our Psychology Department at the State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Benner Township. As a key member of our team, you will oversee and participate in the activities of subordinate psychological staff, providing expert guidance and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality psychological services to inmates.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Screen inmates referred for psychiatric and mental health services, making appropriate referrals for evaluation or treatment
  • Conduct psychological assessments, administer and interpret diagnostic measures, and provide individual and group counseling, psychotherapy, and other therapeutic interventions
  • Formulate both short-term and long-term psychological treatment goals for inmates and provide immediate crisis intervention and therapeutic services
  • Contribute to the development of psychological services programs, assist in creating and integrating new policies and procedures, and develop and implement a counseling program to address adjustment issues in daily life, social interactions, and work environments
Requirements:
  • One year of experience as a Licensed Psychologist MH or Psychologist, or one year of experience as a licensed professional psychologist in the treatment of inmates or individuals with mental illness, mental retardation, or behavioral dysfunction
  • Valid license to practice psychology as issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Psychology or possession of a valid license to practice psychology as issued by another state with licensure requirements acceptable to the Board
  • Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA
What We Offer:
  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch
  • Eligibility for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55
