We are seeking a highly motivated Licensed Psychologist Manager to join our team at the State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Benner Township. As a key member of our Psychology Department, you will oversee and participate in the activities of subordinate psychological staff, providing tailored treatment and education to inmates.

In this role, you will be responsible for screening inmates referred for psychiatric and mental health services, making appropriate referrals for evaluation or treatment, conducting psychological assessments, and administering and interpreting diagnostic measures. You will also provide individual and group counseling, psychotherapy, and other therapeutic interventions to support the rehabilitation and public safety goals of the Department of Corrections.

As an administrative supervisor, you will contribute to the development of psychological services programs, assist in creating and integrating new policies and procedures, and develop and implement a counseling program to address adjustment issues in daily life, social interactions, and work environments.

Key qualifications for this position include a valid license to practice psychology as issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Psychology or another state with licensure requirements acceptable to the Board. You must also be able to perform essential job functions and pass a background investigation.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • One year of experience as a Licensed Psychologist MH or Psychologist; or
  • One year of experience as a licensed professional psychologist in the treatment of inmates or individuals with mental illness, mental retardation, or behavioral dysfunction.

Special requirements include possession of a valid license to practice psychology and successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA. PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
