About the Position

We are seeking a highly motivated Licensed Psychologist Manager to join our Psychology Department at the State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Benner Township. As a key member of our team, you will oversee and participate in the activities of subordinate psychological staff, providing tailored treatment and education to inmates.

Key Responsibilities
  • Screen inmates referred for psychiatric and mental health services, making appropriate referrals for evaluation or treatment.
  • Conduct psychological assessments, administer and interpret diagnostic measures, and formulate both short-term and long-term psychological treatment goals for inmates.
  • Provide individual and group counseling, psychotherapy, and other therapeutic interventions, as well as immediate crisis intervention and therapeutic services.
  • Develop and implement a counseling program to address adjustment issues in daily life, social interactions, and work environments.
Requirements
  • One year of experience as a Licensed Psychologist MH or Psychologist, or one year of experience as a licensed professional psychologist in the treatment of inmates or individuals with mental illness, mental retardation, or behavioral dysfunction.
  • Valid license to practice psychology as issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Psychology or possession of a valid license to practice psychology as issued by another state with licensure requirements acceptable to the Board.
  • Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA.
What We Offer
  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
  • Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Eligibility for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
  • Salary: $86,000 per year, before taxes.
