Pajarito Powder LLC is a world leader in the development and commercialization of advanced electrocatalysts for fuel cells and electrolyzers. We are seeking a highly skilled Research and Development Chemist to join our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare compounds, solutions, and reagents to synthesize and develop catalysts under the guidance of supervisors and scientific principles.
  • Determine and evaluate the relationships of chemical and physical properties, composition, structures, and reactions of catalysts using characterization and catalyst performance techniques.
  • Develop, improve, and customize process equipment, products, formulas, analytical methods, and processes.
  • Consult with engineers and scientists on analysis, interpretation, and development of tests.
  • Document findings and procedures in notebooks, technical papers, and reports, preparing or following specifications and characterization and evaluation standards.
  • Clean and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment, ensuring that all technology is working correctly.
  • Conduct quality control tests and diagnostics to ensure that equipment is operating correctly.
  • Order laboratory supplies, equipment, and chemicals as needed to maintain inventory.
  • Follow safety protocols, perform safety evaluations on developmental procedures, and contribute to safety efforts with peers.
  • Stay up-to-date with scientific literature to expand technical and scientific knowledge and further R&D operations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or a related field from an accredited university.
  • Technical laboratory skills and abilities expected from a degreed engineer and/or chemist.
  • 1-3 years of hands-on laboratory research or process engineering experience.
  • Basic understanding of catalysts and electrochemistry.
  • Basic understanding of chemical safety.
  • Experience recording and reporting on progress of work and communicating with team and supervisors effectively.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
