POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Accounts Receivable Analyst plays a crucial role within our organization, tasked with reviewing, collaborating with sales, and approving orders that are currently on hold. This position involves resolving issues related to credit memos and other factors that may affect the customer's payment capabilities, spearheading the company's collection initiatives, and managing cash postings and deposits.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assess credit limit requirements based on order hold trends and collaborate with the GS Goods Foods Credit expert to set new credit limits.
  • Ensure timely collections in accordance with customer payment schedules.
  • Work with sales and business leaders to ensure that collection efforts on overdue invoices are prompt and conducted professionally.
  • Communicate with sales teams or customers regarding discrepancies in invoicing.
  • Engage with the sales team concerning short paid items.
  • Develop and document standard operating procedures for accounts receivable processes.
  • Make informed business decisions based on customer behavior, transaction patterns, and historical issues.
  • Update the system in line with credit decisions.
  • Collaborate closely with the sales team to foster a strong business relationship.
  • Conduct in-person meetings with the sales team to address accounts receivable issues for resolution.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

  • Ability to perform under pressure, making rational decisions in high-stress situations.
  • Strong analytical and statistical capabilities.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables and vlookups).
  • Hands-on experience with accounting and ERP software (experience with Microsoft Navision / Dynamics 365 Business Central is advantageous).
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated advanced analytical skills, including strong mathematical abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the capacity to collaborate across various levels and departments within the organization.
  • Availability to work closely with inside sales, serving as the primary contact for invoicing issues.
  • Engage with sales/credit customers, prospects, and internal team members.
  • Act as a consultant and primary credit contact within the local office.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in collections, credit evaluation, and accounts receivable processes.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business is preferred.
  • Financial analysis skills and knowledge of advanced accounting principles.
  • Strong understanding of finance and credit management.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This role is based in an office environment, where the employee will be seated at a desk equipped with a computer, monitors, phone, and other necessary resources. The position requires routine sitting at a desk and occasional walking short distances within the office.

COMPENSATION:

$30-$33 based on experience.
