Therapeutic Activities Assistant

Job Summary:
The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking a compassionate and outgoing individual to fill the role of Therapeutic Activities Aide at the Southwestern Veterans' Center. As a member of the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, you will have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of Pennsylvania's veterans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct planned sessions of resident activities under the direction of Therapeutic Recreational Services staff.
- Direct and participate in program activities such as social parties, dances, dinners, bus or van rides, table games, field trips, clubs, movies, bingo, shopping, bowling, crafts, games, fishing, music, exercise, picnics, gardening, and leisure time spectator activities.
- Instruct or assist residents individually and in group sessions, creating a safe and pleasant atmosphere.
- Attend training and educational programs to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
- Minimum six months of experience as an Aide Trainee or equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Ability to perform essential job functions.
- Preferred qualifications include willingness to work in Allegheny County, PA, and experience working in a long-term care facility.
