Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Nursing Assistant to join our team at the Community Living Center. As a Nursing Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our nursing staff in delivering high-quality care to our patients.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide personal nursing care to patients, including taking vital signs, obtaining specimens, and supporting the nursing staff and physician with diagnostic testing and patient care treatments.
  • Identify and meet the needs of patients for information and guidance in daily living, promoting patient participation in therapeutic communities and fostering increased self-reliance and independence.
  • Report any changes in patient condition or behavior that might be caused by drug reactions or problems on the ward.
  • Encourage patients to maintain self-care and check on their physical and emotional progress using designated charting techniques.
  • Accurately and efficiently describe and report all subtle behavioral changes and interactions among patients and the nursing staff.
  • Maintain a safe and secure environment for patients at all times and contribute to maintaining a ward environment oriented toward future independent living.

Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must be proficient in written and spoken English.
  • Must be able to work all tours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to lift and carry moderate weights (15-44 pounds).
  • Must be able to stand for long periods and walk for short distances.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One year of experience as a Nursing Assistant or in a related field.
  • Completion of a nursing assistant training program or equivalent experience.
