About the Role

Amazon is seeking a highly skilled and experienced PR professional to join our Global Sustainability team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategic public relations programs to support Amazon's carbon-free energy progress.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support and execute strategic public relations programs and ongoing storytelling to promote Amazon's sustainability initiatives.
  • Work closely with Amazon's Sustainability team and global PR teams to develop and implement effective communication strategies.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with national business, tech, consumer, and sustainability-focused press to generate accurate and positive coverage.
  • Lead announcements and PR campaigns around Amazon's energy initiatives, including writing talking points, messaging, and blog posts.
  • Manage media inquiries and reputation issues around fast-moving topics, providing day-to-day support to teams.
  • Build solid media relationships with key sustainability, energy, and technology reporters to establish Amazon as a world leader on energy issues.
  • Collaborate across a wide array of internal teams and stakeholders to build internal infrastructure and processes to support Amazon's Worldwide Sustainability PR and Energy goals.
  • Advise Amazon executives and spokespeople on thought leadership and media opportunities.
Requirements
  • 7+ years of recent professional communications or public relations experience.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Solid experience managing energy and sustainability issues.
  • Leadership experience at a large company, highly matrixed organized, or agency.
  • Experience advising senior leaders.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $114,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $188,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
