United Surgical Partners International, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Endoscopy Registered Nurse to join our facility. We operate with 4 surgical rooms and 2 treatment areas, focusing on outpatient surgical procedures across various specialties including ENT, General Surgery, Gastroenterology, Orthopedics, Pain Management, Plastic Surgery, and Podiatry. The ideal candidate will be available Monday through Friday, with potential variations in schedule based on surgical needs, including early mornings and late evenings.
Work Schedule: Weekdays only - no holidays, weekends, or on-call responsibilities. Some late evening shifts may be required.
Position Overview: The Endoscopy RN is responsible for the planning, implementation, and assessment of patient care in the Endoscopy setting. This role requires adherence to state practice standards and facility protocols, with a strong emphasis on team communication. Responsibilities also include the maintenance of medical equipment, inventory management, and ensuring a clean and safe environment. Additional tasks may involve patient care in other peri-operative areas, participation in committees, and engagement in quality improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere to center policies with a focus on fiscal responsibility.
- Follow established standards, policies, and procedures for Endoscopy nursing care.
- Exhibit current knowledge and skills in Endoscopy practices.
- Provide comprehensive patient care in pre-operative, Endoscopy suite, and Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) settings.
- Understand and address patient age-specific needs.
- Prepare patients and necessary equipment for Endoscopy procedures.
- Assist physicians in accordance with SGNA guidelines during procedures.
- Maintain accountability for the care of facility assets.
- Assess both physiological and psychological needs of patients.
- Administer conscious sedation as directed by the physician.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and standards for bloodborne pathogens.
- Engage in professional development activities.
- Practice effective body mechanics and maintain composure in crisis situations.
- Report daily activities and situations to the Manager.
- Comply with health, personnel, and staffing policies.
Qualifications:
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
- Current nursing license in the state.
- CPR and advanced life support certifications are mandatory.
- A minimum of one year of experience in Endoscopy; PACU experience is essential.
- SGNA certification is preferred.
- Demonstrate clinical competency, leadership, and teaching skills.
- Physically and emotionally capable of fulfilling job responsibilities.
