Company Overview: United Surgical Partners International, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Endoscopy Registered Nurse to contribute to our surgical team. Our facility is equipped with 4 operating rooms and 2 treatment rooms, specializing in outpatient surgical procedures across various specialties including ENT, General Surgery, Gastroenterology, Orthopedics, Pain Management, Plastic Surgery, and Podiatry.

Work Schedule: The ideal candidate will be available Monday through Friday, with flexibility required based on surgical schedules. This role may include early morning and late evening shifts.

Position Highlights: This role is strictly weekdays only, with no requirements for holidays, weekends, or on-call duties. However, occasional late evening shifts may be necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, implement, and assess patient care within the Endoscopy nursing framework.
  • Ensure compliance with state practice standards and facility protocols.
  • Maintain effective communication with the healthcare team.
  • Oversee the upkeep of medical equipment, supplies, and cleanliness of the unit.
  • Participate in patient care across various peri-operative units, as well as engage in committee work and quality improvement initiatives.

Essential Duties:

  • Adhere to center policies while demonstrating fiscal responsibility.
  • Follow established standards, policies, and procedures for Endoscopy nursing care.
  • Exhibit proficiency in Endoscopy procedures and patient care.
  • Provide comprehensive care for patients in pre-operative, Endoscopy suite, and Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) settings.
  • Understand and address the specific needs of patients based on age.
  • Prepare patients and necessary equipment for Endoscopy procedures.
  • Assist physicians in accordance with SGNA guidelines during procedures.
  • Take responsibility for the care of facility assets.
  • Assess both physiological and psychological needs of patients.
  • Administer conscious sedation as directed by the physician.
  • Ensure adherence to OSHA standards and protocols regarding bloodborne pathogens.
  • Engage in professional development activities.
  • Utilize proper body mechanics and maintain composure in crisis situations.
  • Report daily operations and concerns to the Manager.
  • Comply with health, personnel, and staffing policies.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
  • Current nursing license in the state.
  • CPR and advanced life support certifications are mandatory.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in Endoscopy; PACU experience is essential.
  • SGNA certification is preferred.
  • Demonstrate clinical competency, leadership, and educational skills.
  • Physically and emotionally capable of fulfilling job responsibilities.

United Surgical Partners International, Inc. ensures compliance with vaccination regulations.
