Key Responsibilities:

  1. Responding to Inquiries: Handle calls for the State of New Jersey Hotline concerning Property Tax Relief.
  • Address taxpayer questions regarding filing deadlines and eligibility.

  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of all Property Tax Relief programs.
  • Ensure the confidentiality and security of taxpayer information.
  • Communicate approved responses to taxpayers in accordance with state guidelines.
  • Provide information on calculated benefits and reimbursement schedules.
  • Assist in resolving taxpayer concerns and deescalating challenging situations.
Application Corrections: Assist in correcting errors on applications submitted to the State of New Jersey.
  • Gather accurate information from taxpayers to facilitate corrections.
  • Review applications for completeness and accuracy.
  • Utilize problem-solving skills to achieve desired outcomes.
Record Adjustments: Help streamline the filing process for taxpayers.
  • Communicate essential filing information to taxpayers.
  • Assist in calculating taxable and non-taxable income.
  • Update taxpayer addresses in the state system.
  • Order paper applications upon request.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of New Jersey Department of Revenue testing.
  • Proficiency in a Windows environment.
  • Basic keyboarding skills.
  • Prior experience in sales or customer service is preferred.
