Job Title: Direct Care Staff

Abilities Inc. is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Care Staff to join our team. As a Direct Care Staff, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to our residents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social well-being.

Job Summary:

The Direct Care Staff will be responsible for providing personal care services, including bathing, dressing, and grooming, as well as assisting with daily living activities such as eating, toileting, and transferring. You will also be responsible for promoting independence, dignity, and respect for our residents, and for maintaining a safe and clean environment.

Responsibilities:
  1. Provide personal care services, including bathing, dressing, and grooming, as well as assisting with daily living activities such as eating, toileting, and transferring.
  2. Assist residents with daily living activities, such as preparing meals, managing medications, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.
  3. Promote independence, dignity, and respect for residents, and support their physical, emotional, and social well-being.
  4. Develop and maintain relationships with residents, their families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care and support.
  5. Participate in training and education programs to enhance skills and knowledge, and to stay up-to-date with best practices in care and support.
  6. Contribute to a positive and supportive team environment, and participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the quality of care and support provided.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience working in a care or support role, preferably in a residential setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with residents, families, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to work.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to use electronic medical records.
  • Ability to lift, transfer, and move residents safely and comfortably.
