We are currently looking for a Senior Design Engineer to oversee and drive significant new product initiatives, enhancements, and cost-saving projects through innovative project management, assessment of client needs, conceptual design, and product engineering. This role will also involve researching new technologies and materials to support cutting-edge designs that meet customer expectations.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Agricultural Engineering
  • A minimum of five years of progressive experience in product engineering
  • Expertise in Computer Aided Design (CAD) software, particularly in solid modeling
  • Understanding of fundamental materials and processes utilized in the industry, with a focus on emerging technology trends

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with SolidWorks
  • Proficiency in finite element analysis (FEA) software and stress analysis
  • Ability to envision, develop design options, and coordinate project team efforts within time and budget constraints
  • Dedication to effective project leadership, coordination, and assessment, with suggestions for improvements to enhance overall outcomes
  • A background or interest in music or theater

As a Senior Design Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading multifunctional project teams to achieve project objectives and foster team growth
  • Encouraging the generation and refinement of innovative ideas for new products, enhancements, and cost reductions to deliver optimal solutions for our clients
  • Performing engineering analyses related to strength calculations, design layouts, fits, tolerances, and solid modeling
  • Conducting Design Reviews, Drawing Reviews, DFMEAs, DFM, and Design Validation as part of the new product development process
  • Executing accelerated product life cycle tests, assessing field testing, and evaluating potential misuse to ensure long-lasting and safe products for users
  • Providing comprehensive and well-documented product specifications, collaborating closely with Engineering Services, Manufacturing Engineers, Marketing Managers, Unit Managers, Industrial Engineers, Planners, and Quality Control
  • Supporting the development of new manufacturing processes
  • Assisting Project Engineering with product information and documentation needs for new products and technical support for customizations
  • Preparing recommendations with supporting rationale for product modifications that could enhance sales potential or reduce costs
  • Offering technical writing support and editing for service manuals, assembly instructions, and operating guidelines
  • Coordinating and executing product development tasks with other departments, including:
    • Product design and necessary calculations
    • Design Reviews
    • Design Validation
    • Design Failure Modes Effects Analysis (DFMEAs)
    • Design for Manufacturability (DFM)
    • Cost analysis for design
    • Prototype development
    • Accelerated product life cycle testing (including environmental assessments)
    • Development of engineering specifications
    • Documentation for early concept development for Engineering Services
    • Preproduction support
    • Field testing (beta evaluations)
    • Acquisition of materials
    • Acquisition of tooling
