QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current experience in Operations Management, Crop Production, and Equipment Technology with a focus on Precision Agriculture and its software.
- A strong commitment to excellence and high standards, particularly in delivering outstanding results to landowners and neighbors within the agricultural production area.
- Proven experience managing a team of at least 610 individuals in a fast-paced environment.
- Significant experience and capability in personnel management are crucial.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with vendors, neighbors, team members, and management.
- Self-motivated with strong time management and organizational skills.
- Professional appearance and demeanor are required.
- A demonstrated history of being safe, dependable, and reliable.
- Strong organizational, multitasking, problem-solving, and analytical abilities. Physical capability to lift, carry, push, and pull a minimum of 60 pounds.
- A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is necessary.
- A positive and cheerful attitude is essential.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is seeking an Agricultural Operations Supervisor for a prominent crop producer in New York.
The Agricultural Operations Supervisor role involves managing all aspects of machinery and equipment upkeep, prioritizing the safety and well-being of farm personnel and livestock.
This leadership role includes directing, training, and providing daily support to the cropping and grain facilities team.As a committed team member, key objectives focus on improving operational efficiency and growth by ensuring a steady supply of high-quality forages for our dairy herd and overall grain operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Equipment Operation and Fieldwork:
Expertly operate various machinery to ensure safety and productivity.
Transport trucks between farm locations as needed.
Collaborate with team leaders to oversee machinery operation by staff.
Participate in all fieldwork activities during planting and harvest seasons.
Operate tractors, combines, and equipment for soil preparation, planting, and harvesting.
Supervise crop inspection, grading, sorting, storage, and post-harvest processing.
Adapt and implement emerging agricultural technologies.
Machinery Maintenance:
Oversee a team to ensure proper maintenance and repair of agricultural machinery, ensuring optimal operational conditions at all times.
Possess comprehensive knowledge of all equipment to facilitate effective operations.
Coordinate external machinery repairs.
Maintain detailed and current machinery maintenance records.
Manage parts ordering and maintain an accurate inventory.
Ensure cleanliness and upkeep of agricultural machinery and facilities.
Implement and enhance the farm's maintenance schedule.
Team Management and Leadership:
Foster a dynamic company culture that emphasizes problem-solving and continuous improvement.
Lead daily farm operations, guiding the harvest crew and managing facility maintenance.
Direct, mentor, and support crop personnel, providing solutions and assistance.
Address and resolve field-related challenges.
Train, mentor, and supervise both new and existing employees.
Drive operational efficiency and growth through performance excellence.
Continuously seek and implement operational enhancements.
Develop and update plans for ongoing improvement and growth.
Conduct reviews after key events, promoting a culture of learning and development.
Actively participate in and support team assignments and farm objectives.
Contribute ideas, solutions, and support to the team.
Uphold and advocate for the farm's mission, vision, and business culture.
Collaborate with leadership in business development, strategic planning, and employee growth.
Set annual goals, organize staff, and drive business expansion.

Invest in ongoing management skill development through on-the-job and external training.
Enhance overall business knowledge and operational understanding.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in heavy machinery and dairy operations is essential.
