QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in operating, repairing, and maintaining agricultural machinery is preferred.
  • A dedicated team player with strong communication skills, self-motivated, ethical, and honest.
  • A proactive approach to assisting wherever necessary is essential. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • This role will also involve some computer tasks, including record-keeping and inventory price checking.
  • Experience in manure management and recordkeeping is advantageous.
  • A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is beneficial but not mandatory.

JOB DESCRIPTION:


Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is representing a prominent dairy operation located in New York that is seeking an Equipment Operator, who will also support the maintenance team when not engaged in fieldwork.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and motivational abilities to collaborate effectively with our crop staff, manure application team, and maintenance crew.

The individual will coordinate with the crop manager and shop manager to execute routine maintenance and repairs on equipment.

Teamwork is crucial as the employee will work alongside others to ensure all machinery is maintained, and the shop environment is kept orderly and functional.

Collaboration with the team is necessary to ensure timely preparation of land, planting, spraying, and harvesting of crops, aimed at achieving optimal yield and quality in support of the dairy's interests.

The operation is situated near a welcoming community with modern amenities, including schools, dining options, banking services, and shopping facilities. Additionally, it is adjacent to a State Park, offering excellent hiking opportunities and scenic views for outdoor enthusiasts. Compensation will be based on experience and can be negotiated along with benefits as required.

We are willing to provide training and support to individuals, even those with limited experience in large agricultural operations, especially if they have a background in farming.
