Engineering Technician III

As a Materials Testing Specialist at Terracon, you will be responsible for performing field and laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials. You will communicate with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure that testing and inspection requirements are met. Your duties will include transporting material samples to the laboratory for further testing, tabulating and submitting data and observations, and maintaining equipment and vehicles. You will also assist with scheduling and dispatch of technicians to project sites and adhere to strict safety standards.
Responsibilities:
Perform field and laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials
Communicate with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure testing and inspection requirements are met
Transport material samples to the laboratory for further testing
Tabulate and submit data and observations
Maintain equipment and vehicles
Assist with scheduling and dispatch of technicians to project sites
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience or the equivalent in training and related experience
Experience with laptop computer use and Microsoft Word and Excel
Materials testing certifications (e.g. ACI, AWS, ASNT)
Preferred Qualifications:
NICET Level II certification in Construction Materials Testing
ICC certification in two or more categories (e.g. Reinforced Concrete, Spray-applied Fireproofing)
American Welding Society (AWS) Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)
American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT) Level II certification in multiple areas (e.g. Visual Testing, Magnetic Particle Testing)
