Position Information:
The Pharmacy Technician III will perform specialized functions necessary to assist pharmacists in providing safe, efficient, and cost-effective pharmacotherapy services. This includes, but is not limited to, sterile compounding, controlled substance oversight, pediatrics medication history, patient assistance, inventory control, medstation maintenance, unit inspection, packaging, bedside discharge service, and quality control procedures. The successful candidate will utilize requisite equipment, non-sterile and/or compounding supplies, and computer systems as appropriate for the procurement, preparation, verification, and delivery of medication.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist pharmacists in providing safe and efficient pharmacotherapy services.
2. Perform specialized functions, including sterile compounding, controlled substance oversight, and pediatrics medication history.
3. Utilize requisite equipment and supplies to procure, prepare, verify, and deliver medication.
4. Conduct quality control procedures and contribute to the maintenance of pharmacy equipment and supplies.
5. Assume responsibility for at least one pharmacy-related project outside of normal job duties, determined by supervisor/manager.
6. Train and mentor new employees and/or students in the theoretical and operational aspects of procedures and serve as a mentor for less experienced staff.

Requirements:
1. 7 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a hospital setting (inpatient/acute or outpatient).
2. Clinical Pharmacy Technician experience in a specialty area is required.
3. Eligible for registration with the NC Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of hire.
4. Certified Pharmacy Technician or equivalent education requirement.

Work Schedule:
1:30pm-12 midnight, 7 on/7 off.

Weekend Requirements:
Every other weekend.

Call Requirements:
As needed.
