About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Bechtel Corporation. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will play a critical role in the design, development, and evaluation of mechanical components and processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and apply standard mechanical engineering methods, techniques, procedures, and criteria to make adaptations and modifications.
  • Support the design, development, modification, and evaluation of mechanical components and processes utilizing relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design standards, and guides.
  • Coordinate work and collaborate within discipline and with other engineering disciplines.
  • Provide technical assistance to other mechanical personnel and interact with project functions, the customer, and regulatory agency personnel in the resolution of complex regulatory issues and industry codes and standards.
  • Assist project and construction management in identifying and complying with project mechanical requirements and addressing issues as they arise during project execution.
  • Prepare or assist in the preparation of conceptual studies, designs, reports, or proposals.
  • Execute schedule requirements while maintaining a high degree of quality in work products and support development of project cost and schedule estimates.
Requirements
  • Requires a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related) from an ABET accredited university/college and a minimum of 2-5 years of relevant professional work experience.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must be able to complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Related experience includes, but is not limited to, experience in Piping and Instrument Diagram (P&ID) development, fluid system design, hydraulic, heat transfer, and thermodynamic calculations, and equipment specification and design development for waste processing, nuclear, refinery, power, or chemical process facilities.
  • Knowledge of industry and regulatory guides, codes, and standards.
  • Hands-on Microsoft office programs and other computer programs.
  • Broad knowledge of mechanical engineering design principles.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Engineering in Training certification in the US, or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire.
  • Experience working with procedures meeting quality assurance programs such as ASME-NQA-1, MIL-Q-9858A, or ISO-9000.
