Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Teledyne Brown Engineering Inc. in Knoxville, TN. As a mid-senior mechanical engineer, you will be responsible for developing mechanical and controls systems for our next-generation systems used in nuclear explosion monitoring networks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Creating fabrication and assembly drawings in accordance with ASME Y14 standards
  • Tolerancing and design for manufacturability
  • Interpreting electrical schematics for troubleshooting and design purposes
  • Developing proposals, test reports, customer presentations, design specifications, and other technical documents
  • Interface with technicians to ensure specifications are attainable and verify compliance
  • Interface with customers in technical working groups
  • Estimate labor hours, track actuals, and coordinate scheduling with other project managers
  • Troubleshooting complex systems from sensor data and log files
  • Creating bills of materials for new designs and tracking materials during fabrication
Requirements
  • Previous professional experience with high purity compressed air, cryogenic cooling, high vacuum, nuclear detectors, and industrial controls
  • US Citizenship with ability to attain/maintain government security clearance
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally approximately 10% of the time
