Key Responsibilities
  • Assist and take direction from the Director of Nightlife to promote fast, courteous table service to customers.
  • Familiarize yourself with property events and programs to provide accurate information to guests.
  • Maintain a high level of professional and personalized guest service that embodies the Golden Nugget's brand standard and core values.
  • Communicate professionally and courteously with guests and fellow co-workers.
  • Anticipate guests' needs and respond accordingly with a sense of urgency.
  • Resolve guest complaints and ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of all liquor brands, beers, and non-alcoholic selections available on the casino floor.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of designated glassware and garnishes for each drink.
  • Perform opening side duties, including folding and stacking cocktail napkins, stocking swizzle sticks, straws, matches, and glassware.
  • Pick up dirty glassware and ashtrays from assigned stations and return them to the Service Bar.
  • Inform the Apprentice Bartender of needed supplies.
  • Communicate orders into the system through the Bartender and verify transmission.
  • Bid farewell to guests, using their name when known, and encourage them to return.
  • Assist with maintaining a neat, clean, and safe working environment.
  • Turnover/Takeover stations according to established procedures.
  • Relay all guest compliments and complaints to the manager on duty.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures and liquor laws.
Requirements
  • At least 6 months of experience as a Cocktail Server in a high-volume environment.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of and strictly abide by state liquor regulations, particularly those prohibiting service to minors, intoxicated persons, and drunk driving.
  • Maintain knowledge of the particular characteristics and description of every wine/champagne by the glass and major wines on the wine list.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum age requirement is 21.
