Overview:
The Registered Nurse will support the Nurse Manager in delivering leadership within the department to enhance patient safety and optimize healthcare outcomes. This role includes delegated responsibilities for overseeing unit operations and maintaining professional practice standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Nurse Manager in evaluating staff performance and contribute to the development, implementation, and assessment of care standards for the unit and its patient demographic.
- Engage in coaching and developing nursing staff, serving as a role model by demonstrating effective communication and problem-solving skills while providing direct patient care.
- Collaborate with Clinical Nurse Specialists and Educators to address the educational needs of the unit, ensuring continuity of care related to specific patient requirements.
- Support the management of resources, ensuring equitable workload distribution and alignment of staff competencies with patient needs.
- Work alongside the Nurse Manager to identify and resolve operational, budgetary, patient, and personnel challenges.
- Participate in the creation, implementation, and evaluation of patient care protocols, guidelines, and strategic initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Essential Credentials:
* Basic Life Support (BLS)
* Registered Nurse (RN)
* Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
* Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses (ATCN)
* Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC)
* Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC)
* Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - Education:
Minimum Required: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. Preferred: Master's Degree in Nursing.
Required License/Certification: State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN). BLS certification and any relevant certification as determined at position level.
Minimum Experience: 3 years in related clinical areas. - Certifications:
TNCC or ATCN, ENPC or PALS required within 1 year of hire. BLS certification must be valid through sixty days of hire.
