A Day in the Life of a Client Relations Specialist I
As a Client Relations Specialist I, you will handle a variety of tasks related to customer service for past residents, billing inquiries, and collections.
Your role will emphasize fostering positive resident relations by delivering exceptional service while assisting residents during the move-out process, which includes collecting outstanding balances and addressing billing inquiries. You will ensure timely responses to resident requests and concerns and collaborate with the appropriate staff to effectively resolve issues.
You will work closely with revenue accountants to reconcile delinquent accounts, resolve overdue balances, collect payments, and manage collection issues while processing account adjustments.

Your Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Customer Service
Engage with residents through phone, email, and mail to address billing inquiries and provide outstanding customer service.
Respond to and manage resident concerns and questions, coordinating with appropriate staff to resolve communication issues.
Enhance resident relations by ensuring timely responses to resident concerns and requests, adhering to Liberty Military Housing's standards.
Utilize the call center system by answering live calls, managing callbacks/voicemails, transferring calls, and updating call records.
Assist residents during the move-out process, which may involve move-out accounting, collection of outstanding balances, and preparing and sending delinquency letters.
Collaborate closely with revenue accountants to efficiently reconcile delinquent accounts.
Responsible for collections, resolving overdue balances, and collecting payments from responsible individuals or negotiating payment plans for installment collections.
Prepare documents for submission to third-party collection agencies in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Data Entry/Administrative
Maintain accurate records of customer accounts and update account information as necessary.
Perform various administrative tasks, including email communications and data entry into various software systems (Yardi, Excel, Access, and other company-related software).
Participate in and attend departmental or regional meetings, resident or community events, seminars, and other work-related activities.
Qualifications:
What You Need for Success:
This position requires 6 months of experience in accounts receivable or collections.
Proficiency in personal computer skills, including keyboarding, internet searches, email correspondence, mathematics, and Microsoft Office applications (including Access, Word, Excel, and other software such as Yardi, Payscan) is preferred.
Must possess clear listening and speaking abilities on the telephone.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, multitask, prioritize, and complete assigned duties to meet operational objectives.
Effective communication and interaction with residents, management, and co-workers are essential for exchanging information and providing work direction.
Must have a valid driver's license and the ability to operate a motor vehicle.
A high school diploma or GED is required.
