Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Cardiac/Pedi Assistant to join our team at Yale New Haven Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to our patients and families.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with basic patient care, including vital sign measurements, toileting, and feeding, under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
  • Perform selected procedures, such as specimen collections and application of dressings, as directed by licensed personnel.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly patient care environment, including storage and utility areas.
  • Orient patients to the unit and secure patient valuables.
  • Respond to call lights and provide necessary assistance to patients.
  • Monitor and communicate changes in patient condition to licensed personnel.
  • Assist with reinforcement of incentive spirometry and reapplies oxygen equipment as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to ensure smooth operation of the department/unit.
Qualifications

We are looking for a candidate with a high school graduate or equivalent and a graduate of an accredited nursing assistant program or equivalent. A minimum of one-year medical/surgical or equivalent experience is preferred. Nurse Aide Certification or equivalent is required, and BLS certification is also required.
