Position Summary
This role is primarily focused on the repair and maintenance of audio and video equipment. The Service Technician will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving issues with both customer-owned and company-owned devices, which may involve detailed electrical or mechanical troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct inspections, tests, and repairs on a variety of equipment, including amplifiers, mixers, powered speakers, and more.
- Collaborate with the Parts Department to source necessary components for repairs.
- Prepare detailed estimates covering labor, parts, and materials for repairs.
- Perform warranty repairs in compliance with manufacturer guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with customers to gather information for diagnostics and explain repair findings.
- Execute custom wiring and assembly tasks, including the creation of specialized audio cables.
- Work collaboratively with team members to achieve service and financial objectives.
- Manage multiple repair tasks efficiently while addressing customer service needs as directed.
- Maintain high standards of accuracy and quality to minimize returns and complaints.
- Assist in training and mentoring junior technicians as needed.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Associates degree or certification in Electronics Servicing, or equivalent experience preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in electronics repair is required.
- Familiarity with audio, video, lighting, and electronic musical instruments is advantageous.
Skills and Competencies
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong understanding of safety practices in a workshop environment.
- Ability to convey technical information clearly to non-technical individuals.
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Capable of multitasking effectively without compromising quality.
Work Environment
This position is primarily office-based, with minimal travel required. The role may involve lifting equipment up to 50 pounds and requires prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and using standard office equipment.
