Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing survey initiatives and field teams while maintaining effective communication with clients.
  • Administering field methodologies and operational processes.
  • Quality assurance and quality control in the preparation of surveying documentation.
  • Conducting Boundary and Topographic Surveys.
  • Preparing projects for Construction Layout.
  • Executing ALTA Surveys.
  • Processing fieldwork in the office environment.
  • Training and mentoring staff.
  • Supervising multiple survey teams and office personnel.
  • Calculating and managing construction layout requirements for field teams.
  • Responsible for comprehensive surveying practices, including client engagement and proposal development.
  • Conducting project research and setup.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent in a relevant field.
  • Professional Land Surveyor registration in NJ is mandatory; additional registration in PA, MD, or NY is advantageous.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience is preferred, with proficiency in operating survey equipment such as GPS, robotic stations, and scanning technologies.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Expertise in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Carlson Software.
  • Ability to interpret civil drawings, including intricate details, and successfully execute construction layouts.
  • Proficient in using Trimble GPS/VRS and Robotic Total Stations.
  • Dependable, responsible, and reliable work ethic.
  • Strong communication skills with clients, capable of accommodating requests and generating work orders.
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
  • Capacity to function independently while collaborating within a diverse project team.

Experience Requirements:

  • 10+ Years of Professional Experience.

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor's degree in Surveying or a related discipline is required.

Licensure and Certifications:

  • Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) License.
  • Valid Driver's License.

Technical Responsibilities:

  • Providing oversight for task managers; coordinating project tasks; reviewing project documentation; interfacing with agencies and subconsultants; adjusting project plans as necessary.
  • Familiarity with project contract documents.
  • Recruiting and retaining qualified staff.
  • Translating top-level management strategies into actionable policies.
  • Establishing and implementing daily routines for teams or departments.
  • Fostering talent development: Enhancing staff skills and empowering them as problem-solvers to drive innovation.
  • Overseeing learning, coaching, and career advancement.

Project and Task Management:

  • Ability to manage project tasks effectively.

Management and Supervision:

  • Receives administrative supervision with assignments outlined in broad objectives.
  • Provides mentoring experiences to senior staff.
  • Leads and supervises the coordination of office personnel and field teams, including assigning tasks and verifying field measurements.
  • Assists in developing and monitoring the Business Development Plan for Geomatics.
  • Evaluates employee performance.
  • Ensures compliance with organizational processes and procedures.
  • Inspires and motivates employees to excel.
  • Assigns and oversees specific work tasks.
  • Allocates resources effectively within teams.
  • Reports performance issues to upper management.
