Position Overview

The Housekeeping Team Leader is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the housekeeping staff within the Veterans Health Administration. This role is crucial in maintaining a hygienic and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and healthcare personnel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and guidance to housekeeping staff in executing their daily tasks effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with all cleaning protocols and safety regulations.
  • Manage time and attendance records for team members and allocate resources as necessary.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding project updates and any arising issues.
  • Assist in training new housekeeping personnel and provide ongoing support to enhance their skills.
  • Conduct regular inspections of work areas to ensure cleanliness and adherence to standards.
  • Facilitate the distribution of cleaning supplies and equipment to staff as needed.
  • Participate in meetings and document key points for future reference.
  • Support the laundry supervisor with inventory management and linen distribution.
  • Assist in snow removal efforts to maintain safe access to entrances during winter conditions.

Work Schedule: Saturday - Wednesday; 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must demonstrate relevant experience and skills that align with the responsibilities outlined above.

Physical Requirements

Candidates must be capable of performing physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds and maneuvering heavier loads when necessary.
