Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Professor of Teaching to join our team at the University of California-Davis. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching, curriculum development, and assessment of existing courses in the general area of biochemistry and molecular biology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach a variety of courses in biochemistry and molecular biology, including introductory and advanced classes
  • Develop and implement new pedagogical initiatives and assess their effectiveness
  • Play a leadership role in the scholarship of teaching and learning
  • Work with faculty to develop and implement new courses and curricula
  • Develop a successful portfolio of professional and scholarly activity in discipline-based education
Requirements
  • PhD in Biological Sciences or related disciplines
  • Experience teaching college-level biology courses
  • Documented success in teaching large undergraduate lecture and laboratory classes
  • Experience with evidence-based teaching practices and modern instructional technology
  • Ability to identify and develop effective teaching strategies for diverse student populations
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience developing a portfolio of professional and scholarly activity in discipline-based education
  • Experience with experiential learning and virtual classrooms
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
