Responsibilities

Under the supervision of healthcare professionals, the Medical Assistant is tasked with providing patient care that ensures the safety and well-being of all individuals. Responsibilities include performing preliminary health assessments such as measuring blood pressure, recording weight, temperature, pulse, and other vital signs as per established clinical guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver general patient care in accordance with established protocols. Welcome and prepare patients for consultations with healthcare providers. Collect and document vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, height, weight, allergies, and current medications. May be responsible for drawing blood samples and preparing specimens for laboratory analysis. Administer prescribed medications and/or vaccines through various methods as directed. Conduct routine tests, including EKGs, as required. Schedule patients for diagnostic procedures and follow up to ensure completion. Communicate test results and care plans to patients via phone or mail as instructed by the healthcare provider. Maintain cleanliness and organization of patient exam rooms and sterilize instruments as necessary. Document patient care plans, tests, and examination results in medical records as directed. Escalate non-routine issues or concerns to the practice manager or healthcare providers. Ensure completion of safety checklists and quality control measures as required. Uphold patient safety and confidentiality standards. Perform additional duties as assigned by the practice manager or healthcare providers. Qualifications

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent required Completion of a Certified Medical Assistant program preferred

Licensure/Certifications:

Current/valid Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification required or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) if applicable. Active American Heart Association BLS certification within 30 days of hire.

Experience:

2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant preferred Familiarity with electronic health records preferred
