PRIMARY DUTIES:

The Production Supervisor is accountable for overseeing all operations during the shift, focusing on safety, production efficiency, quality control, training, and team supervision. Collaborating with Department Managers, the supervisor will monitor and enhance overall productivity while minimizing downtime and waste.

SECONDARY DUTIES:

  • Oversee safety, quality, productivity, and team dynamics across all production areas (Print, Die Cutting, Finishing, Shipping, Maintenance).
  • Commit to workplace safety and enforce compliance with safety regulations.
  • Adjust production activities to eliminate waste and adhere to schedules.
  • Set and communicate daily objectives for machine operations, holding team members accountable.
  • Promote and enforce quality standards in alignment with SCT's Quality Program.
  • Address production challenges by identifying root causes and providing training to the team.
  • Manage timecards, vacation requests, and staffing in partnership with the Production Manager.
  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition to recruit and onboard new team members.
  • Provide effective training and onboarding for new and temporary staff, ensuring they have the necessary resources.
  • Deliver ongoing performance feedback through coaching and recognition.
  • Work with team members to resolve work-related issues and consult with HR on disciplinary matters.
  • Communicate essential company information to all shift members clearly and effectively.
  • Maintain accurate production records and documentation.
  • Partner with Production Management to facilitate timely performance reviews.
  • Ensure smooth shift transitions by engaging with incoming and outgoing supervisors.
  • Open and close the facility weekly, adhering to security protocols.
  • Participate in training and meetings as required, contributing to safety and operational improvements.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing setting, including at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience in the corrugated, paper, or folding carton industry is preferred.
  • A Bachelor's degree is preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel).
  • Familiarity with large-scale ERP systems is a plus.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, comprehend, and communicate complex documents and write clearly in English.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Competence in basic arithmetic, including fractions and decimals, and the ability to analyze data.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Regularly required to walk, stand, and use hands for various tasks. May need to lift/move 25 to 75 pounds and perform these functions for extended periods.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Typical office environment within a manufacturing facility, often around machinery and equipment. Occasional travel may be required for training or meetings.
