Job Summary

Southwire Company, LLC is seeking a highly skilled Environmental Health and Safety Professional to join our team at the Monroe Township, NJ Customer Service Center. As a key member of our EHS team, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and developing effective EHS strategies to promote a safe and healthy work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Compliance and Regulatory Expertise: Provide regulatory expertise to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety, health, and environmental regulations.
  • EHS Program Management: Plan, organize, and implement EHS activities at the facility, including training and program management.
  • Incident Reporting and Investigation: Manage the incident reporting process and support site personnel in investigating incidents and implementing corrective actions.
  • Capital Project Requests: Develop capital project requests for machine guarding, ergonomics, dock safety, and other hazard mitigation projects.
  • Team Member Engagement: Drive Team Member engagement to create and foster a proactive, empowered safety culture.
  • EHS Performance Metrics: Establish and report site key EHS performance metrics to ensure scorecard objectives are met.
  • Process Improvements: Coordinate process improvements that will reduce injuries and incidents and minimize employee exposures and environmental impacts.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering or Science discipline or other program applicable to the health, safety, and environmental fields.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working in industrial health, safety, and environmental activities.
  • Working knowledge of the VPP process and various safety regulations or standards (OSHA, NFPA, ANSI, NEC, etc...).
  • Professional certification is desired.
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours or shifts.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills along with exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to travel 25-50%.
