Position Overview:

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing and executing month-end closing processes, conducting analytical reviews, performing variance analyses, and managing reconciliations. This role also entails the daily upkeep of the general ledger and addressing complex ad hoc inquiries.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conducting month-end closing tasks, which may involve the preparation and/or review of revenue forecasts, accruals, equity method investments, prepaid expenses, and regulatory deferral/amortization accounting.
  2. Calculating, analyzing, and documenting monthly activities with a comprehensive understanding of business operations and performance metrics.
  3. Preparing and reviewing financial statements (FERC and GAAP) to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to reporting standards and procedures.
  4. Demonstrating extensive knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), practices, and procedures.
  5. Exhibiting advanced computer skills, particularly strong proficiency in Excel, including working with large datasets.
  6. Utilizing effective communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  7. Maintaining strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  8. Working autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
