Job Title: Facilities Project Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Facilities Project Manager to join our team at Travis County, TX. As a Facilities Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the design, construction, and renovation of facilities across the county.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee facility design and construction services for County departments
  • Provide recommendations on facility projects
  • Develop project master plans and implement those plans through reviews, cost estimates, and construction
  • Plan, design, and write specifications for construction projects
  • Prepare bid documents and work with other County departments to procure professional services and construction contracts
  • Review bids and recommend contract award for construction projects
  • Ensure that professional consultants provide appropriate services related to program and scope requirements of design projects
  • Ensure that vendors and contractors comply with plans and specifications of the construction contract
  • Supervise the inspection of construction in progress and of existing systems in cooperation with relevant contractual and governmental agencies
  • Establish project priorities and set schedules for timely completion of construction projects
  • Analyze and respond to inquiries, comments, and complaints from County officials, staff, and the public
  • Work closely with officials, department heads, and County staff to establish procedures for the monitoring of contract compliance issues
  • Represent the County in community meetings, seminars, conferences, and professional associations
  • Maintain current knowledge of professional practice and renewal of professional license through continuing education program activities
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering
  • Three years of directly related, increasingly responsible professional architectural or engineering planning, design, or construction experience as a licensed Registered Architect (R.A.) or Professional Engineer (P.E.)
  • One year of lead, management, or project management experience
  • Licensed to practice as a Registered Architect (R.A.) or Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the State of Texas
  • Valid Texas Driver's License
  • Ability to pass a background investigation, including fingerprint clearance, and a criminal background check for CJIS clearance
