Position Overview
Leidos is seeking a Senior Vice President of Space Systems to lead the Space Systems Division, which encompasses a dedicated team of approximately 250 professionals and generates an annual revenue of $190 million. This division is committed to tackling a variety of technical challenges for both governmental and commercial space clients. The successful candidate will oversee a critical growth sector within Leidos, focusing on space payload and sensing technologies.
The Senior Vice President will report directly to the Senior Vice President of Aerospace Systems and will be tasked with steering the division's commitments across customer relations, employee engagement, program management, financial oversight, and strategic business development. This leadership role requires the ability to cultivate relationships with other division leaders and collaborate effectively across the organization to drive success at all levels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a high-performing team with a focus on talent development, employee engagement, and retention.
- Develop integrated business strategies that align with the overarching goals of the Aerospace Systems Business Area and the Defense Sector.
- Monitor and achieve annual financial targets and growth objectives while ensuring technical performance meets expectations.
- Oversee the development of advanced space hardware and systems, including IR payloads, communication operations, and propulsion systems.
- Foster innovation within the division, providing thought leadership in space systems and addressing emerging market trends.
Successful Candidate Attributes:
- Proven leadership experience with a history of mentoring senior staff in a successful environment.
- Expertise in building and managing diverse teams across various geographical locations.
- Track record of meeting or exceeding financial performance targets.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with a minimum of 15 years in program management, business management, engineering, or business development; or a Master's degree with 13+ years of relevant experience.
- At least 12 years of experience managing complex programs or large-scale projects, with a minimum of 5 years in space systems development.
- Experience leading teams across multiple time zones and managing distributed organizations.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience managing annual revenues exceeding $150 million with a demonstrated history of portfolio growth.
- Proven success in capturing contracts valued over $150 million.
