POSITION SUMMARY:

The selected candidate will oversee production personnel, managing all facets of the production process. This includes assigning tasks, prioritizing responsibilities, and scheduling staff to maximize production efficiency and sanitation operations. A solid understanding of Spray Drying production techniques and strong communication abilities are critical for success in this role.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Maintain all quality standards and protocols, ensuring adherence to quality procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) programs, and environmental sanitation.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and standards.
  • Generate manufacturing performance reports and monitor key performance indicators.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to foster a culture of operational excellence in processing, productivity, safety, and quality.
  • Supervise the training of both new and existing employees.
  • Schedule production staff to optimize plant efficiency.
  • Evaluate systems and processes to recommend improvements in methods, equipment performance, personnel utilization, product quality, and safety objectives.
  • Act as a technical resource to resolve inquiries and issues related to production, quality, and safety.
  • Ensure all necessary documentation is completed, including records, sanitation logs, inspections, inventory, and maintenance work orders.
  • Administer relevant company policies and procedures.
  • Actively participate in safety initiatives.
  • Assist the Quality department with investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective actions.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

EXPERIENCE:

  • A Bachelor's degree or a minimum of three years of leadership experience in drying powder systems is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, direct, and motivate personnel to foster professional development and advancement.
  • Proven track record as a coach, counselor, and key decision-maker.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work independently and take initiative to drive success.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and 5S organization is advantageous.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:

This role requires the Production Supervisor to engage in significant walking while on duty. The individual will frequently interact with employees on the production floor and may occasionally perform tasks of production associates and maintenance in a supportive capacity, as needed.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

The work environment involves conditions that may be noisy, wet, slippery, and hot.
