As the Assistant Manager of Accounting Operations within our Technology Transformation team, you will be instrumental in supporting the SAP Advanced Financial Close (AFC) platform, which is our innovative financial close management solution.
This position involves managing essential close processes in AFC and spearheading the continuous enhancement of the tool and the closing procedures.
You will collaborate closely with the Canada Accounting close team to provide ongoing Record to Report (RTR) support during their initial year of utilizing the new systems and processes.
Your Responsibilities Include:
Enhancing AFC Stabilization and Optimization:
Act as a liaison between AFC business end users and the IT Support team to improve process efficiency.
Oversee the financial close template, including the monthly distribution of the close task list, ensuring engagement with end users for completeness and accuracy.
Facilitate onboarding for new AFC users and provide troubleshooting support for their experience.Assist in executing certain SOX control activities.
Serve as the primary contact for identifying opportunities to enhance closing efficiency.
Lead ongoing optimization efforts of the AFC platform to streamline and automate closing processes while promoting best practices.
Manage the implementation of future AFC version releases and related change management initiatives.
Supporting Canada Accounting Close and Optimization:
Offer ad hoc assistance and guidance to RTR teams in Canada following their go-live phase, as required.
Document and communicate challenges to project teams, working collaboratively to find solutions.
Identify issues from Wave 1 and drive resolutions in Wave 2.
Provide periodic updates to leadership regarding progress.
Qualifications We Seek:
Required Experience:
A minimum of 7 years of experience and a Bachelor's degree are required. A CPA designation is preferred but not mandatory. Previous experience in accounting close optimization, consolidations, internal controls, SAP, or ERP implementation is considered advantageous.
